It’s ok, it happens, but here’s how not to lose the game
If you managed to get yourself all the way to “pitch day”, you’d have surely earned a certain degree of respect from your prospect, even if they didn’t move forward with your offering.
Why?
The prospect understands the value you can bring. Your solution might not be the right fit for them at that moment in time BUT who’s to say they don’t know someone who could benefit from it…
So here’s what you do
You hold your head up high, acknowledge and respect the prospect’s decision, ask for feedback but most important of all, don’t close the door on them just there!
If you are selling to your ICP, try to build a genuine and meaningful relationship with them and they may connect you to someone in their network who might just need what you have to offer. Cold e-mails work well, but peer-to-peer recommendations don’t hurt 😉
