🚨 Read before accepting a sales role at a SaaS startup

Hey Sales reps & BDRs 👋

New year, new role?

Here are some questions to ask before accepting a sales job at a SaaS startup:

  • What are the company’s revenue targets for the next 2 years?
  • How has the company performed against its targets in the past 2 years?
  • How were the initial customers acquired?
  • How many sales reps do they currently have and what is their tenure?
  • How many of the initial sales reps are still there?
  • What percentage of sales reps hit their targets each month/quarter?
  • What does good look like after 90 days on the job?
  • How many customers do they acquire per month?
  • Why might a prospect not move forward with your solution?
  • How long is the sales cycle?
  • What has the churn rate been over the past 12 months?
  • How much cash runway is in the bank today? When will they need a new round of funding?

Startups are volatile, you deserve to know what you’re getting into.
