How many times have you seen young, gifted athletes blow the careers ahead of them?
There’s a lot of factors as to why that may happen but one thing I’ve noticed is a lack of intrinsic drive
Athletes are not the only ones prone to this. I’ve seen this in salespeople too…
Salespeople who know the ins and outs:
π The pain points
π The product
π The industry
π The methodology etc.
The only thing they lack is that internal drive to push more by going that extra mile, to achieve more, to become better
The motivation created by external factors is always short-lived, it’s therefore no good to keep you going in the long-run
Think about it…
As it is, sales is hard even you are motivated to want to cold call, prospect, etc. If you donβt have the drive, you will hate those activities and will inevitably stop trying which could mean not realising your full potential
