This time next month I will be speaking at the B2B Marketing Expo, one of Europe’s leading marketing events.
One of the topics I will cover in my talk will be Social Listening. But how do you tap into social listening to find your next customer?
- Searches 🔍 – Keep an eye on hashtags related to your product/service/industry and you will come across real business opportunities. 👉 Pro Tip: Use a tool like Hootsuite or Crowdfire to monitor your hashtags
- Social Stalking 🕵️♂️ – Have a look at your competitors’ social channels – what are they posting, who are they tagging, who’s liking and engaging with their content?
- Events and conferences 🎟 – The goal is not to attend every conference related to your industry, that would be physically impossible and very costly! Whilst you can’t be there in the flesh, you can attend “virtually”. Almost every event out there will have some hashtag(s), which you can follow to interact with attendees who are actively posting content.
- Facebook Groups 👥 – Groups like “Sell more with Social Media” (run by my good friend, Dylan Hey), have evolved to become communities for industry professionals to share their best practices but also pain points, serving as an ideal opportunity to network and who knows, maybe just meeting your next client 😉
